** Yes this is EXTREMELY long, but equally important not just to me but thousands of people*thank you from the bottom of my heart β₯οΈ
Hey all! I hope everyone is doing well π As you may know, we've started a non-profit organization The Doodle Den Foundation, it's the 1st like in anywhere in the entire country. IT'S BEYOND A HUGE UNDERTAKING!! We have both our Federal and State 501(c)(3). Meaning any help or donations are considered a tax deduction for you on next year's taxes.
The Foundation is definitely picking up speed, unfortunately more people need help, then we have donors & sponsorships. Donations can be anything from no longer needed but in good condition walkers, shower benches, grab bars, wheelchairs and other medical equipment that is reusable, to volunteering (you don't have to be in Maine to volunteer,) but we always desperately need volunteers for a variety of different tasks we could really use some help with. We can sign papers for community service if you must do the either work or community service 20 hours a week for state benefits under federal law. We can use help with social media (Tic tok, Instagram, etc some like our page The Doodle Den Foundation please like, share and comment. The more help we receive the more we can get people help, that in many ways are saftey concerns. Maine has 16 counties, in only two counties there's over 90 people whose insurance ran out so they were sent home. Problem being they don't have a ramp to get in or out of their homes. If there was a fire or emergency that they had to get out, they would literally be unable to get to saftey. Most of the 90 people in just these 2 counties have been on a waiting list for 2 years or more. Their homes were also not modified for them to be as independent as possible. All donors and those who would like to learn more about a sponsorship please contact us and we can explain how it works. If you donate or have a business and are able, willing and want to help many, many people, not just in Maine. Every sponsorship and anyone donates, you will receive free advertising. All our sponcers & sponsorships, are listed on our website, is on a board staying The Doodle Den Foundation presents whatever we're doing in the community, fairs, speaking engagements and on social media The Doodle Den Foundation on Facebook along with all other of our platforms. We will also be holding fundraisers, where again we will thank you publicly. We have many changes including our new website, more merchandise, but rather than 10% of all sales going to the Foundation, The Doodle Den LLC is now a completely different entity. If you haven't yet, please like, share, commment on The Doodle Den Foundation page as the LLC one will be shutting down temporarily as it is being reworked. That's now actually going to be a contracting for construction website to get the people who seriously need help with ramps and modifications needed. Ultimately, we're in a way going backwards. We wanted originally to only help those stuck in "skilled nursing facilities " aka nursing homes. When we were informed about how many people that because their insurance wouldn't pay anymore, home they go, weather they can get in or out, doorways not fitting through doorways you name it. So, we will be doing our absolute best to help those still in nursing homes, as well as the people who were thrown out without their regard to their safety or needs. Another awesome reason to grow chapters throughout NE and the rest of the country is it gives a HUGE network to utilize. Someone here may need a wheelchair, and we don't currently have one available, we can call or send out a mass email to see if and who may have one available, we can get it sent here or vise versa.
I know that this was long, but if you read it, thank you, it means more than you know to me. If you did read the entire thing, please like and comment so I know who's seeing my posts! I also ask to please no matter where you may live help spread the word by sharing! Again PLEASE if anyone knows someone who has the shipping containers who may be willing to donate one for the medical equipment I'd be eternally grateful π We have MANY different programs including a service/emotional support/therapy animals free of charge for those who can't afford one. ALL PROGRAMS ARE REGARDLESS OF AGE OR ABILITY TO PAY! We can ALWAYS also use items for our mascot Sarah Doodle and our hopefully soon to be the momma's to our service animal program! We are lucky enough to be in talks with an AWESOME trainer who can do all three types of training as I know the people who you're helping would be too!!
God Blessπ
as well. WE'RE IN DESPERATE NEED OF A CONVEX SHIPPING CONTAINER FOR DRY STROAGE!! If you know of anyone who would be interested in a possible sponsorship or donations we'd be EXTREMELY GRATEFUL! The plan is to have a chapter in every state in NE within 5 years and moving throughout the rest of the country within 10 years. You can check out our website www.thedoodledenfoundation.org to see exactly what we do and how if even a little you'd like to help, paying it forward. Right now we cover the entire state of Maine so anyone in ANY part of Maine if you have an hour a week, different days and times, and you'd like to help, we are trying to set up volunteers to visit people who are in the rehabilitation stage of their recovery after a serious illness or injury, who have either VERY few visitors or visitors on only certain days and times to go, have a coffee with them, cards or just talk, help them remember who they are, they're not their sickness or injury. Nothing about what happened to them or ANY medical questions unless they tell you BUT NO MEDICAL ADVICE!
If you would like more information, need help, to volunteer, sponcer, make a donations, a possible sponsorship, or you just want to learn more about us, feel free to contact us either on our website www.thedoodledenfoundation.org, our page The Doodle Den Foundation, email us at [email protected] or you can call my personal cell phone so you get to speak specifically with myself or other co-founder and co-director. The cell number is 401-237-0121. Yes, we're in Maine for some reason when they put up our satellite for our phones they gave us 401 area codes. Help us help those who need help the most. We can't do this alone. We also accept items that we can either raffle off, put into gift baskets, where we do silent auctions among many other uses. If you make anything that you think would make a great addition we'd love to have you join The Doodle Den family!!!
The Doodle Den Foundation emerges as a heartfelt initiative rooted in personal experiences and a strong sense of purpose. Our journey begins in rural Maine, fueled by a vision that extends beyond borders. As we take our first steps, we will be going out into the community, aiming to eventually grow....
