You knew him by the brilliant red suit, the big joyous “Ho, ho, ho,” the piercing blue eyes that looked into each child’s eyes and made them feel special, and the informal title of the “Best Santa in Wichita.” All of those things are absolutely true. But here, he was so much more.
At a place where your friends become your colleagues and your colleagues become your friends, we find that your work friends often become your family. And that’s how it was with Greg. He was a BIG part of the Prairie Pines family.
Behind the scenes, Greg was a go-to person for the creativity of a new idea, enthusiasm for a new project, ingenuity for solving dilemmas, and the one you could always count on to just be there. Today, everywhere we look, we see the indelible mark he left on our farm.
You might have heard the pride in our voice when saying “Santa’s here,” “the guy with the green wig can help,” or “our friend, the lavender farmer.” But that was just the small part you could see. The loss of Greg Lohkamp leaves an enormous space in our farm family and in our hearts. Please join us in celebrating the life of a great man who touched so many lives.
