The 2nd Annual Jam for Joey is in the books. Thank you to everyone who came out to support, skate, volunteer their time, donate and/or sponsor. It was great to see so many new faces at the park, some of which skated in their very first contest.
We kicked off the day with live music from Greenpill, helping to build the energy up during warm ups. Following that, we had a full day of events for all ages with lots of awards to give out!
I am grateful to have been involved in bringing this idea to fruition two years in a row, establishing a day in which we get together at the park to skate and honor Joey amongst friends and family. We hope to continue to push this upwards for years to come. Thank you to Tim Johnson for these photos, recap video coming soon! Skate Contest Results:

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Skateboard Park was filled on Sunday, with big air, music, competition and community. It was the second-annual Jam for Joey skate jam.

It’s Frankly County Fair Week! You can find our newest graphic down at Bob’s Little Sugar Shack, have to grab a snow cone too! I’ve known Devon for a long time, so when the idea of a Fair themed graphic came up, Bobs was crucial in making it really line up. Super nice of them to display our board this week, so if you’re in the area stop down and show him some love. Located in the strip near the grand stands

JAM FOR JOEY EVENT SCHEDULE - NEXT SUNDAY

Come out and support your local skate scene as we honor the late Joey Boyle with a day of skateboarding amongst friends and family.
We have room for everyone with three different skill levels, bonus challenges and a TON of prizes!

-Starting off the day we have practice/sign ups accompanied by local bands Greenpill and DoomF**k from 12-2:00

-Our first event kicks off at 2:00 with the Youth Jam, meant for kids under 12 who are still getting used to the board. They will have 5 minutes to skate the park to the best of their abilities, followed by a bonus challenge, “Dans Danger Course!” to win additional prizes.

-Moving onto the Intermediate Level, which is meant for skaters 12+ who have had more time on the board. They will have a 5 minute full park jam to pull off their tricks for a chance to win some $$.

-Next is our First Bonus Challenge of the day, we have the “High Elevation Challenge” sponsored by Titus Mtn. Who’s got the biggest pop?! Send it to the moon and take home some lift tickets to the Mountain this Winter with this High Ollie Bar Contest.
Open to all ages.

-Our Second Bonus Challenge is “The Long Haul.”
Grease up yo trucks! We want to see the longest grind, whether you’re trying to tackle the long wall or all around the bowl coping, longest grind takes home a new pair of trucks! Open to all ages of appropriate skill.

-The Final Event is our Advanced Skill Level, which starts off with 2/45 second solo runs of the park.
This is a good time to show off your flow, without the traffic. After Round 1 & 2 runs are over, Round 3 will be a FINAL attempt to win over the hearts of our judges and take home some cash with a Full Park Jam! *Note: Participants MUST participate in all 3 rounds to be considered for awards.
