Some days you play in a golf tournament. Some days you make history.

At the annual Win Hoyt Golf Tournament benefiting Bennington County Habitat for Humanity, player Marc Fisher hit his first-ever hole-in-one on the $10,000 hole sponsored by HUB Insurance.

Congratulations, Marc! We’re pretty sure this is one round of golf you won’t be forgetting anytime soon. ⛳️

There are a lot of jobs on a build site where you spend most of the day looking up.

This crew spent Women’s Week installing the ceiling at 70 Jennifer Lane, and by the end of the week, it was fully in. It takes patience, teamwork, ladders, measuring twice, and apparently a willingness to hold your arms over your head for WAY longer than seems reasonable!

A home is more than four walls and a roof...

During Women’s Week, volunteers built planter boxes for the homes taking shape here, worked on the shed door, and kept pushing exterior work forward. None of it is the flashy “look, we built a whole house today” kind of work, but all of it is the stuff that turns a construction site into somebody’s home.

And honestly, those planter boxes are going to look pretty damn good out there.

Meet Chris, our Construction Manager: the guy with the tattoos hanging out of a window, the drill in his hand, and somehow has a few hundred moving pieces under control!

His job is a little bit everything. On any given day, Chris might be at his desk figuring out what needs to happen next, at the lumber yard tracking down supplies, and then back on site teaching someone a new task or dealing with the thing nobody saw coming.

Some days, he has a full crew of experienced volunteers. Other days, he is welcoming a few people who are brand new to a build site. And when a shift is light, or no one is signed up, Chris is still out there getting the work ready for the next group.

Volunteers are the hands building these homes, and Chris helps give those hands a safe, productive place to do their work.

We’re grateful for Chris, and for every volunteer who builds alongside him! 💚💙

Women’s Week is officially a wrap!

Over four days, 38 volunteers put in more than 200 hours of work at our build site in Manchester. The ceiling is fully installed, siding and fascia got finished up, a shed door got some attention, planter boxes were built for the homes we’re working on, and a whole lot of smaller things got crossed off the list too.

Just a really solid week with a really good group of people. Thanks to everyone who came out, got dirty, and helped move these homes forward!
