One of my favorite box lot finds. This is a Jefferson Mystery Clock made in the early 1960's. Jefferson made 2 versions, the Golden Hour and the Exciting Hour.
This one is the Exciting hour and it is rare since this model was produced for only one year. It's brushed nickel versus the gold wash of the Golden Hour version.
The "Mystery" is how the hands of the clock are driven without any visible means. For more information and to unravel the mystery just google Mystery Clock!

This is from a recent estate auction. This print was produced in Paris in 1945 by Ducher and Co. The artist, Boris Riab, was an accomplished artist specializing in hunting dogs. He authorized prints of some of his work and personally approved each print with his signature. This is one of the original hand signed prints.

I got this woodblock print at an estate auction recently. It turns out to be an original by Ohara Koson dating to the 1930's. The original owner was a WWII vet. He bought it in Japan early in the Occupation and added a Haiku. The Haiku refers to a battle near Kyoto and the Occupation. What do you think the last line in the Haiku means?

Back in the day taking pictures was a big deal. Capturing pictures of loved ones was done almost exclusively by professional photographers. Here is a picture of a Victorian gentleman in a parlor scene. The picture was taken by J. P. Haseltine, a self described Artist Photographer, at a studio in Lancaster, NH in the late 1800's.
