Meet Miss Hinoki on shearing day! 🐑✂️💕

I mean… LOOK AT THAT SWEET FACE! 😊 How can you not fall in love with her?

Miss Hinoki is a beautiful Shetland sheep, and this Yaya is VERY excited because her gorgeous fleece will soon be making its way to the Swamp! 🧶🐑

There is just something extra special about knowing the sheep your fiber came from. From Miss Hinoki → fleece → washing → carding → spinning → yarn… and then who knows what she will become! 😍

I cannot wait to get my hands on this goodness.

A couple little updates for the week:

🧶 English ➡️ Continental Conversion
Heidi’s attempt to convert all you English throwers over to the Continental side has been POSTPONED!

🧶 Texture Class
Thursday’s Texture Class is ON AS PLANNED! Kat’s got ya!

🤞 DOUBLE KNITTERS!
Everybody cross your fingers, toes, needles and whatever else you can cross — your yarn should be here by the end of this week! 🎉

👜 CABLES ARE COMING!
Heidi will be teaching cables while creating this absolutely beautiful Macaroon Purse. Kits should be ready for pickup next week, because y’all have a little bit of homework to do BEFORE class. 😈🧶

She will VERY proudly tell you:

“I MADE IT!” 🙌

This is Clara’s very first knitted garment EVER! She started it in May and finished it just last week. And y’all… LOOK AT IT! 👏👏👏

I’ll have to circle back with you on the pattern, but that beautiful yarn is from Drunken Sheep Yarn Co. 🐑🧶

And here’s the really impressive part: Clara only started knitting in March! She’s been crocheting forever, but knitting was brand-new territory.

She also started out with some needles that eventually got replaced by ChiaoGoo needles. 😏 Now, Clara may have fought her Yayas a little when we tried convincing her that your needles can make you or break you…

We won that battle. 😂😂😂

And apparently Clara won the knitting battle because just a few months later, SHE MADE A WHOLE CARDIGAN!

Y’all… Sandnes Garn came into the shop and is filling our shelves just BEAUTIFULLY. 😍

Sandnes Garn comes all the way from Norway and has been making gorgeous yarn since 1888. So yeah… they know a thing or two about wool. 😂

We’ve got a beautiful DK weight that is:

🐑 70% Norwegian Lambswool
🐑 30% Merino Wool

(11 colors of awesomeness)

And Heidi and I seriously cannot stop drooling over it. 🤤🧶

If you’re a WOOL LOVER, you need to come put your hands on this stuff. Pictures simply aren't gonna do it justice.
