Well what was supposed to be an exciting week has certainly taken a turn…..
We are skipping Green Dragon tomorrow simply because it is not safe to spend 10 hours outside breathing in all this smoke.
New Cumberland Pride will more than likely be postponed to Sunday due to all the storms/rain forecasted for Saturday. Considering that we also have Berks Pride on Sunday that means we will have no choice but to miss New Cumberland 🙁

Thank you Frederick Pride‼️🌈🦄💃 We took a chance on this out-of-state event we didn’t know much about. The stars aligned, we experienced too little rain to notice (perhaps just enough for a rainbow somewhere outside our realm,) the smoothest setup/pack-up, a lovely group of colorful customers and a beautiful weekend overall. This was our best Pride yet despite being in the teeny tent!
Today was spent exploring this super cute town, eating exquisite foods and shopping at the cool spots Downtown Frederick has to offer. We are already looking forward to next year.💗
We’re taking a couple weeks off from events but will still be at the markets (unless the temperature is too much to deal with-then nobody wants to be there.) Then July 18th & 19th shall be a rainbow-stacked weekend; New Cumberland Pride Saturday and Berks (Reading) Pride on Sunday, and that’ll end 2026 Prides for Quantum Mystic but know we’ll be bright, bold, and proud forevermore! 🌈

A beautifully worded (and important) message from one of our dear vendor friends Jenni Buffington Art. This is why we have a minimum purchase requirement to pay with a card. Too often people seem shocked that we will not accept a credit card for their $3 purchase…..this is exactly why.
Last year we paid over $1000 in credit card fees and this year we will definitely smash that as we are already over $500.

Hello! I wanted to quickly drop in and talk about a topic that has come up a few times over the last couple of shows with myself and other vendors ( complete with adorable wing commission photo 😍). The topic is cash money and why a lot of us prefer it. I am specifically speaking for myself in this post, but the whole "cashless society" is a big no bueno.

Most of us full timers use a type of device that accepts cards, and sometimes patrons are not aware that we are charged a fee to do that. Early on, the additional fee was reasonable. Over time, those fees climbed exponentially and sneakily. These are multibillion dollar companies, so they are certainly not hurting for revenue as they capitalize on price increases for small businesses everywhere.

In some cases there is a flat fee on top of the sale percentage, so if something costs $5.00 for example, with tax in PA (we pay that too), $5.30, your favorite shop is only getting a fraction of that. A manual card entry is even pricier, and the higher the sale, the bigger the deduction.

SO all of that said a lot of us LOVE and prefer cash or Venmo (as of this post no fees). If you cannot use it, that is totally ok. Hopefully this can help shed some light on "the why" of other options. If you see a sign about a minimum sale for card use, please be kind. We are all doing our best to keep afloat AND give you a beautiful experience. We love what we do, and we love our patrons.
