It is always nice hearing from our customers across the country. We sell our Lake Trolls from Maine to Alaska and it is always nice hearing the success angler's are having.

Colton, I can’t help but give a shout out/hooray to LT for our recent trip to Flathead Lake in Montana. We have never been there and did a little bit of research on terminal setups. Seemed like they like to use cut plugs with bait chamber with maple sausage 4’ behind 10” dodger. Also some large squid (my recent purchase from you). We caught a few smaller ones using this setup the first day. I switched to Dagget County tactics – lake trolls and mega tubes - the second morning and my son kept the cut plugs on. After I had 4 hookups on much larger fish he eagerly switched. We fished a few hours in the morning for next 3 days and put much larger than guide average in the boat. I spoke to a guide as we were pulling out and asked him if these fish were typical and he said we did much better than their typical trip and asked if we were jigging. We showed him the large lake trolls and mega tubes and he hadn’t seen either, he seemed a bit perplexed. I didn’t see anything like that at the two tackle stores we visited. Anyway, I thought it might be a good place to market LT. Cheers

There have been many rumors circulating about Flaming Gorge and the amount of water to be released this year, as well as the timing. We’d like to clarify a few points and assure you that Flaming Gorge remains a top destination this summer!

It is accurate that between 660,000 and 1,000,000 acre feet of water will be released downstream. However, this will take place gradually over the coming year, not within the next few months. The water level at Flaming Gorge is predicted to drop by 12.5 feet in elevation by the end of September 2026, reaching a projected elevation of 6010.22 feet. This includes the usual drawdowns conducted to support endangered fish spawning downstream. For context, the maximum elevation for Flaming Gorge is 6040 feet, while the elevation before peak runoff is typically lower, at about 6027 feet. As of today, May 4, 2026, the elevation stands at 6022 feet. You can check the current elevation at the following link:

There has been talk about boat ramps possibly closing this summer. According to the Bureau of Reclamation, NO BOAT RAMPS will be closed/unusable before the end of September. This is great news!! Fishing and other recreational boating on Flaming Gorge this summer will be amazing.

Now that we’ve discussed the water above the dam, let’s talk about what’s happening below the dam. This year promises to be exceptional! Higher flows will keep the water colder, resulting in incredible fishing conditions. Additionally, increased flows mean fantastic rafting opportunities.

Beyond water activities, Flaming Gorge will host concerts, rodeos, car shows, and fireworks. Don’t forget to explore the OHV and hiking trails for even more outdoor adventures.
