💙 A Bittersweet Update from Pure Manistee 💙

This is a post I’ve been putting off writing, but after a lot of thought, we’ve made the difficult decision to close Pure Manistee next month.

2026 has looked very different for us than 2025, and with the slower winter months ahead, we know that closing is the right decision for us at this time. It’s certainly not the ending we had hoped for, and I’m disappointed—but I’m also incredibly grateful for what Pure Manistee has become and for everyone who has been part of it.

And we’re not quite ready to say this is goodbye. 💙

We’re hopeful that spring may bring an opportunity for Pure Manistee to return in a space and location that are a better fit for what we want to create. We don’t know exactly what that might look like yet, so we’re taking things one step at a time.

If we’re able to make that happen, we have some fun plans we’d love to bring along with us—including continuing our old-time Manistee photo experience and finally getting that slushy station up and running!

And speaking of old-time photos… they aren’t disappearing with the storefront! 📸

We’re already planning to bring the old-time photo experience back for Sleighbell Weekend, so stay tuned for details on that.

For now, we still have some time together at Pure Manistee, and we plan to enjoy it. Thank you to everyone who has stopped in, shared our posts, brought friends and family, participated in our crazy ideas, supported our Michigan makers, or simply told someone, “You should check out that little shop downtown.”

We truly appreciate every bit of it.

Saturday, September 12th will be our last day open.

This chapter may be coming to a close, but we’re hopeful there are more chapters still to come. 💙

We are a small family run store. If I'm not here, you will see my husband or daughters. That being said, we like to be there for our daughters' events as much as we can. They will all be showing goats and pigs at the county fair next week. So our hours will be a little different. Because the show lengths are dependent on cooperative animals (😳😂), we won't have set hours. I am also being a vendor at the fair marketplace with my upcycled shirts and cake pops. Fair market is Tues-Thurs 3pm-10pm and Fri/Sat Noon-10pm. We appreciate your understanding and invite you to come check out this year's fair. Parking and entry are free! 🐐 🐖 🍀

Well... that pretty much sums up this week. 🤦‍♀️

I walked outside and realized our OPEN sign was hanging upside down. I guess that's just the kind of week it's been!

Thankfully, we fixed the sign... and we're still here with shelves full of Michigan-made gifts, local favorites, and plenty of Pure Manistee pride. ❤️
