Consolidated Ute School Mail Bag
Ignacio, Colo

Southern Ute Boarding School in Ignacio, Colorado, operated under federal assimilation policies from 1886 until 1920, and the campus was later used for vocational schooling and community programs before closing permanently in 1981. The remaining historic buildings are recognized as one of Colorado's endangered historical sites.
