In honor of the first day of October, here's a new friend!
This started off as a 2006 Fender "Power House" Stratocaster.
The "Power House" name comes from the 12db mid boost feature on the bottom tone control along with 3 single coil pickups with a 'dummy coil' to bleed off the extra noise from the single coils. I really liked this set up, but I wanted a bit more from it, shocker right!
I pulled the stock single coils and 'dummy coil' out and replaced them with three Dimarzio Vitual Solo pickups in Antique White. The noiseless design of these pickups removes the 60 cycle noise without sacrificing the tone of the pickups. I also removed the capacitors off of the mid boost to take it from the stock 12db of boost to the full 25db mid boost, as found in Eric Clapton signature models.
Fender calls the color Caramel Metallic,
I call it yummy and I think this one's going home with me! 😉
