Visit our 230 acre entertainment farm located just west of Chicago in rural Maple Park. This unique Midwest farm is located on both sides of a country road, offering customers an apple orchard and event venue on the east side and spring tulip fields and a good, old-fashioned farm experience complete with fall pumpkin harvest on the west side! st, then mid August the orchard opens for apple picking. Mid September the Pumpkin FunFarm opens and the pumpkin harvest begins. November through July the orchard is the perfect full service venue to host your wedding or event for groups up to 200 people.

Blooms and Bushels Fest is coming to an end, Fall Harvest Fest opens Friday 🍎🎃

If the Fall Flower Fields are on your list, this is your last week! While sunflowers are starting to come to an end, the zinnias and cosmos are still blooming beautifully and there's plenty left to cut.

While our farm team celebrates our 25th season as Kuipers Family Farm, we are also excited to celebrate another big milestone: This year marks Cheryl, our beloved Orchard Shop Manager’s 30th season!

Before our family even owned the farm, Cheryl was already hard at work making the Orchard Shop that quaint, comfortable, eye-catching experience we all love.

As we reflect on many fun years, we wanted to capture some of the memories and moments from the past 30 years!

We're putting together a gift for Cheryl's 30th anniversary, and we need your help to finish it! 🍎

Cheryl has managed our Orchard Shop for thirty seasons, so she’s the one who is responsible for each corner of the store that you find something new in. Every jar of apple butter, each candle—she picked it out just for you! She fusses over those shelves like she's having company in her own home because as far as she's concerned, that’s exactly what’s happening.

Honeycrisp, Gala, Pink Luster, Sansa, Crimson Crisp, and Ginger Gold.

Autumn Crisp came out of the Cornell breeding program in Geneva, New York, a cross of Golden Delicious and Monroe, so it carries that honeyed sweetness with a little more acid behind it. It also stays white long after you slice it, because this apple variety contains higher levels of Vitamin C and a lower activity of the enzyme that causes oxidation!

This will possibly be our last weekend for U-Pic Honeycrisp, but we will have them in the Orchard Shop for weeks to come!

We are hosting WBGL on the patio outside the Farmhouse Kitchen for a special morning of connection, encouragement, and community for extraordinary working people. Coffee, c***r, and our famous apple c***r donuts, plus time to meet whoever ends up sitting next to you. WBGL will open with prayer and a short devotional about the difference you make right where you work.

🍎 Last minute update for weekend picking🍎

Due to the heat this week we will have to update our weekend picking plans. Certain varieties that were slated for Saturday's pick need to get harvested before they get soft so our farm team will do that today.

Here is the updated U-Pic schedule. A great weekend for Honeycrisp lovers!

Saturday September 5th — Monday September 7th
🍏 Picking: Honeycrisp, Gala, and Pink Luster (limited)
🧺 Orchard Shop: Honeycrisp, Rave, Zestar!, Gala, Sansa, Pink Luster, and Ginger Gold

Honeycrisp almost never existed. The original tree was damaged in the brutal winter of 1976 and marked for the discard pile, and a few forgotten clones of it sat around the University of Minnesota until a young breeder named David Bedford pulled one out of the reject rows in 1982 and decided to give it another chance. It had not even fruited yet when he saved it.
