The confectioners at Kakao continue to break the (chocolate) mold!

These are Champurrado Truffles�, inspired by a traditional Mexican chocolate drink. We made the ganache with chocolate and heirloom blue corn masa, and a touch of cinnamon and other spices.

Cocoa was originally a drink, often sweetened with ground corn. So these are based on the basis for chocolate.

It's the height of harvest season, and we're celebrating with our vegetable barks! Tomato Bark with Smoked Sea Salt, and Street Corn Bark, both made with freeze-dried veggies. Come and get 'em!

We're super proud of, and mightily humbled, by our TENTH Good Food Award.

Sometimes fate takes a random turn in your direction. Back in January we were informed that none of our three "high-scoring" confections even made the finalist cut for the 2026 Good Food Awards.

This past week, GFA took a closer look (for some random reason) and noticed, and corrected, an error.

It turns out our Olive Oil Truffle and our Pistachio Crunch Bonbon were both finalists, and the Pistachio Crunch Bonbon WON.

These awards are precious to us, recognition for our ongoing commitment to all-natural ingredients, made by hand and presented to you by our amazing, dedicated, and extremely fun team.
