[words]‘ mission is to serve Maplewood and surrounding communities by offering an engaging and welcoming atmosphere for people and families of all stripes to pursue their literary interests. In particular, we are dedicated to the families in our community that have a member with a developmental disability. We strive to help Maplewood become a model community of inclusion through our treatment of disabled customers and employees, especially those with autism.

We're excited to welcome award-winning actor Tony Shalhoub and his daughter, Josie Adams, to [words] to discuss their new book, We’d Thought They’d Never Leave: Musings on Food and Family!

Part memoir, part family history, and a love letter to food and tradition, the book shares memories from Tony’s Lebanese-American childhood to family reunions today, along with treasured family recipes.

Harvard was founded in 1636, but its signature gates were mostly constructed in the past 125 years.

This new edition of Gates of Harvard Yard features beautifully illustrated essays and includes a new afterword by the book’s editor, Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic Blair Kamin, as well as a fresh chapter on Harvard Yard’s latest gate, built in 2020 and inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

In association with the Harvard Club of New Jersey, Blair will discuss the beauty, history, legacy and lore of the Harvard Yard gates.

Born in Red Bank, N.J., he is a graduate of Amherst College and the Yale School of Architecture.
