Small business month is in the rear view mirror for 2026, but small businesses are grinding away at it all year long! 📊

Of course, shopping at small businesses is an AMAZING way to support them, but here are some others that don’t take much time (or money), but can make a big difference:

🌟Like and share their posts - better yet, comment on them. Engagement with posts will get them seen by more people. Follow their page to make sure you see the posts.

🌟Leave a review - Google, Yelp, Facebook; people will see the reviews when searching for the type of business.

🌟Give feedback - if you’re at the business and see room for improvement, or have a suggestion, talk to the owner about it.

🌟Word of mouth - if you like a business, tell your friends and family.

Well, the tourist season is LIT in Maquoketa right now!
(And for those of you that might wonder whether Maquoketa actually has a tourist season, all the folks coming to town for Friends of the Maquoketa Caves State Park, Codfish Hollow Barnstormers, Maquoketa Speedway (and more!) beg to differ 😉)

It’s been so fun meeting shoppers from distant points, and feeling all the local love as well! 🗺️
