Beginning my hunt for recipes for my Christmas cookie boxes...I will change my mind a thousand times before the first batch even hits the oven ...plus I need that ONE special cookie to be the belle of the ball...or box! Have a fun recipe that screams Christmas & would like to share, I would live to see it! Needs to be drop cookies...cookies that have to be rolled out make me say really bad words! I don't wanna say bad words baking Christmas cookies & bar cookies are a no too...unless firm like brownies.

Looking to help a community member in need. There are in need of several items after life gave them a good kick in the teeth. They don't have a lot of storage space; I don't have a lot of storage space for we are going to start out small to begin with & limit donations to the listed items for now. Family is not picky and will graciously accept 2nd hand items (except socks & such). If you have any of the items listed & would be willing to donate, please let me know in the comments. I can arrange for David to pick up anything with a reasonable travelling distance.

One more time I want to thank everyone who donated to our various rescue fundraisers over the past months! While our gratitude is off the charts, I would like to remind everyone that the needs of these amazing organizations don't end when our fundraiser ends. The service these organizations have in our communities is invaluable! Community support is a constant need...whether it be cash donations, supplies or volunteer opportunities. You aren't in a position to do any of those...no worries! Help network the rescues... promote spay/neutering and shot clinics. Every last individual in our community CAN DO SOMETHING! That being said, I would like to challenge the communities of Avra Valley and Picture Rocks to so something this week to help out those rescues where our fundraising has ended...contact each rescue to see just what YOU can do!

Once again, I would like to point out that anyone selling home baked items needs to be registered under the Arizona Cottage Law & you have to hold a current Food Handler's Card.

I see so many local people selling their breads, cookies & other goodies who are NOT signed up with the program. Frankly, it pi**es me off! Three alone today were brought to my attention. None of these individuals appear on the most recent list of registrants for the program. I have emailed the Department of Health to inquire about their status.

Those doing so put those of us who follow rules/laws at risk. IT IS ILLEGAL TO SELL YOUR GOODIES IF YOU HAVE NOT FOLLOWED ARIZONA LAW. By doing so, you set up all of us with the risk of higher scrutiny, potential for more restrictions and loss of income due those who choose not to follow the law.

Arizona laws are set to change sometime this year & the best part will be the ability to report those not registered under the program to the Arizona Department of Health. Seriously! I look forward to that!

Registration with program is FREE! Food Handler Card is under $15. Just play by the rules and stop trying to buck the system! It's because of those who think they are above the law that put a greater burden on th need for more legislation. Ugh!
