UPDATE: The Elwin Coffin, took 1st Place (Blue Ribbon) in woodworking/furniture category at our county fair this year. This and the "Vaultera" are now both prize winning designs.

VAULTERA AWARDS

The latest Coffin I am creating is named the "VAULTERA" for it's vaulted lid. Basically a double trapazoidal shape; wider and higher at the head end, and narrower and shorter at the foot end. The lid is five angular panels.

Currently working on another Knotty Pine coffin, the VAULTERA, with a beveled 5 panel lid, on a sloping base box. I will be posting some pics of it within the next couple of days. Interior is Royal Blue with a white leaf pattern in it; a beautiful change and something to get away from the everyday solid colored interiors. Suitable for a man or a woman. Similar pattern on the ends of the six bronzetone handles, lightly highlighted with gold. Glossy finish on the Pine. Basically rectangular design, but with the head end being higher and wider than the lower and narrower foot end; thus the sloping overall design. Watch for the pics. This coffin is truely a unique design, exclusive to The Coffin Shoppe. It echos of a bygone era - the Art Deco period. (Currently under construction, but here are some progress photos) Expected finish date: May 15, 2010. Crafted in RADIATA PINE from New Zealand, with a Golden Oak finish and hand shading on all corners and edges. One of my finest designs.
