So excited to have had these precious ladies visit Melody Hill yesterday!! Mrs Jo was beyond happy with her quilts and Mrs Jean and I have some big plans concerning some pretty custom feathers in her future!! 😉
I am so grateful for the beautiful friendships that are made through our love of quilting! Can’t wait to see these lovely ladies again!!

This is an example of my free hand work is done on a quilt that has been hanging in my home for 12 years. I started making it when I found out we had a brand new baby girl on the way for our family! I wanted to hand quilt it all so I’ve had it there, just waiting for all these years for me to find a minute to work on it. I was telling someone the story of it over the weekend and I decided I wanted to finish it. So, I brought it to the quilt shop and finished it with my free hand machine quilting techniques that I was not nearly as seasoned with all those years ago.
It’s been finished on the edge with a coordinating floral, and washed to try to get all the pencil markings off. I do not suggest leaving pencil on fabric for 12 years! Some came out and the rest will over time. It’s so nice and fluffy! I love them freshly washed!
I hope Hallie will see the love that went into this project for her! She’s such a beautiful baby girl, and our entire family has been blessed to have her!! Just like them all, I love her with my whole heart and I’m thankful for a chance to finish something I hoped for her all those years ago! Now….. to be sure all the others have something equally special! ☺️
There sure are a lot of them! Maybe I’ll accomplish my hearts desire with time!

This is an example of my free hand work. It’s done on a quilt that has been hanging in my home for 12 years. I made it in anticipation of a brand new baby girl in our family! I wanted to hand quilt it all so I’ve had it there, just waiting for all these years. I was looking at it over the weekend and I decided I wanted to finish it. So, I brought it to the quilt shop and finished it with my free hand machine quilting.
It’s bound now, and tumbling in the dryer, getting nice and fluffy!
I can’t wait to give it to her! She’s been a joy to our entire family and, just like them all, I love her with my whole heart!!

Jo Clark’s beautiful Winter Wonderland with the flying geese, that are a very accomplished skill for such a new quilt maker!! Her aspirations are enviable!!
She did an amazing job making it and I am honored, once again, she would trust me to quilt for her! This digital design is called This & That Pearls!! We chose it because it looked like a Christmas gift with pearls and bows!

Quilting for my clients who make their own quilt tops keeps my machine running all the time! It’s what helps us see a good week, every week! Making memory quilts is fantastic and its rewards come with many days or weeks of sewing! 📆 April, 2026:
I would like to have a quilt made with some of my grandmother's aprons and some of her quilting squares I picked out. I have chosen a quilt pattern from a magazine called Kettle Corn. My name is Sarah, and I live in SC. Can you make it for me?

[……800 half-square-triangles, 12 quarter-square-triangles, and 340 running inches of beautiful border fabric and binding later……]

📆 September, 2026:
I just got my quilt. WOW! It is absolutely beautiful. I love it. The colors are perfect! I can’t thank you enough. A lot of love went in this! I had been following you for years. I just procrastinated on getting this done. I'm glad I chose you and finally sent it. I knew you were the one to do this for me. You put your heart into it. It's very precious. My mom, grandmother, grandfather, and daughter are all in this quilt. I’ll cherish it forever!

📝 Sarah, I am beyond thankful to you for allowing me to make such a beautiful memory for you! Its beauty is only partially in the quilt I made, but more in the love shared amongst you and your family! That love is literally immersed into the fabrics you sent, and they all come together to make a picture of love! Each one whispered its own story to me as I worked with it. It was my absolute privilege to be a part of it!
