Ryan had the opportunity to speak last night at Syracuse University’s Block S Alumni Club special event, The Next Play: Alumni Athletes Turned Entrepreneurs.

The evening featured a panel discussion and Q&A with current Syracuse student-athletes interested in business and entrepreneurship. Ryan shared his journey from SU to building Chocolate Pizza Company, along with some of the lessons he’s learned along the way.

And, of course, no Chocolate Pizza Company event would be complete without a little chocolate! Attendees also got to sample some of our favorite treats.

A great night connecting with the next generation of Orange entrepreneurs! 🍊

Nut Crunch was one of the original gourmet chocolate specialties when Chocolate Pizza Company was just starting out and it remains a classic favorite. Ribbons of our homemade English toffee are covered in rich milk or dark chocolate and topped with pecans and walnuts. Every bite delivers melt-in-your-mouth chocolate with the smooth flavor of toffee and a crispy crunch of nuts. Put this one on your bucket list of decadent treats.

The last small dark Peanut Butter Wing - in the old packaging - has left the building! This morning we sold the last 8 oz. box of dark Wings to a woman who drove in from Rochester (not knowing she would get the last box). Ironically, at that same time, we were unloading pallets of the new box style. The good news is the 8 oz dark Wings are restocked now in the new box. Enjoy!

Homemade English toffee covered in rich, dark chocolate is one of those sweet treats that you just need to experience. The toffee recipe is a local one dating back over 100 years. We make it on-site in small batches - if you're lucky enough to be in the store when the toffee is bubbling away you can't mistake its almost hypnotic aroma. Paired with our gourmet chocolate (milk or dark) it is a classic. Who wants a bite?

Start with our mouth-watering gourmet Swiss-style milk chocolate, then top it with sea salt caramel mini pretzels and caramel squares. This picture from 2011 shows the push-pin map that used to hang on the wall as you walked into the old store on Main Street. A pin was added when we shipped to a new destination until there wasn't room on the map! It was a fun way to show how Chocolate Pizza Company was growing. Last year, we shipped to 50 states and 17 countries. We saved the map when we built our new facility. Maybe we should "unretire" it and put it on display?

Is it too soon for Autumn colors? It kind of feels like fall wants to start early this year in Upstate New York. We love fall - but not sure we want to let go of summer quite yet. Good news is we have chocolate for every season :)
