Good evening! If anyone has never had the opportunity to go fishing for Redfish, I highly recommend! My recent trip down to Bradenton/Sarasota area was a whole lot of fun, and relaxation!
My one day I could get out with a few family members on a fishing charter was absolute blast! Ed caught probably 100-110 redfish , with about 20 speckle trout, a couple of Jack Cravale , and a few Snook. These caught in a 4 hour time frame 7a-11a
We used mainly live shiners, on a 2/0 circle hook.
I borrowed a 1/4 oz. lead head from our guide to use with a Bass Assasin shad to try and catch a few by reeling and twitching the lure and the redfish and jack cravale were smashing it. We were fishing pockets close to shore in bays around Sarasota and Bradenton. Our guide, Capt Ryan Taylor really knows his area, as he has fished the area his entire life, and had his son helping and learning the ropes! He will be an excellent guide if he chooses the life.
