UPDATE: The skies are clearing (and looking mighty beautiful if I may add😌🌤️) We are officially on the way to Prater’s Mill to be ready to welcome you Sunday.

Good morning, everyone. I wanted to pop in and let you know that we will not be set up at Prater’s Mill this weekend.
We made this difficult decision last night based on the high wind and flood advisories, the possibility of tornadoes, the governor’s declaration of a state of emergency, and other events canceling across Georgia.
Of course, we can never know exactly what the weather will bring until it's here. But in 10 years of craft shows, I’ve experienced everything from extreme temperatures to high winds, sleet and even my own booth flooding. Dean has pulled SO many people out of muddy parking fields with my Jeep (including at an event the county shut down because so many people were stuck, emergency vehicles couldn’t move freely.) I’ve watched tents collapse and tumble, shelves of pottery blown over and shattered.
I know this seems like a lot to share but I want to make it clear that showing up and keeping my word matters to me. This decision weighed HEAVY on my heart, but ultimately real lived experiences drove our decision to stay home.
With all of that said, we could ALL use your support right now. Choosing to miss out on sales and lose booth fees that can’t be recouped is a tough call to make. If you have a favorite artist or small business, check in with them. Many of us are selling online and could use your support. An order, a share, or a recommendation can go a long way.
Prater’s Mill is still open, and there are vendors who took a lot of work to set up and bare the elements who could use your support, too. Whether online or in person, thank for continuing to shop small.
