Cailey Shirley, the Store Operations Lead and Lessons Coordinator here at Marietta Ken Stanton Music & Arts, recently shared an experience she had with a student. This lead our District Manager and VP of Stores to a very heartfelt moment with a donation for one of our students that is moving. Cailey posted… “I recently had one of those Christmas morning moments with a student of ours. Victoria has been taking guitar lessons with us for about a year and a half. She is only 16 and her parents are older and only speak Portuguese so she has to handle a lot of adult tasks every day, including all of her lesson billing. She even got a job to pay for her own lessons. Victoria lost her older brother about two years ago and her father recently had a serious decline in health, so they are reluctantly moving to Brazil for more affordable healthcare. Before they left, Victoria came in and gave me a cute keychain and a very heartfelt note. She gave her instructor, Olaf Andersen, a card too. She asked to take a photo with me, left us a 5-star review, and her mom gave me the biggest hug. It really hit home for me and was a great reminder that what we do matters.”
The bosses decided to donate a Fender amplifier and a bunch of strings and accessories for guitar care to take with her to Brazil and continue her musical journey. This is why we do what we do.
