The Story of Whispering Stones Jewelry
As a designer at heart, I love to play with all kinds of mediums- fabric, paint, found objects, and most recently stones. Even as a child, I kept pretty baubles- some natural and some highly polished. In the past couple of years, I have been increasingly drawn to certain gems and stones that resonated with me in a deeper way. Allowing myself- like Alice- to
follow the path and head down the rabbit hole, I became more and more enamored and began designing necklaces with combinations of stones that “felt” right. By studying The Book of Stones by Robert Simmons and Naisha Ahsian, I began to learn why these stones felt like they belonged together and what both the experts and history had been revealing about them and their true nature. In A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, Eckhart Tolle points to “the first recognition of beauty as one of the most significant events in the evolution of human consciousness.” He continues to discuss several things that fascinate us:
“Since time immemorial, flower, crystals, precious stones, and birds have held special significance for the human spirit….Their special significance and the reason why humans feel such a fascination for and affinity with them can be attributed to their ethereal quality. Because of its ethereal nature, its form obscures the indwelling spirit to a lesser degree than is the case of other life-forms….So when you are alert and contemplate a flower, crystal, or bird without naming it mentally, it becomes a window for you into the formless…..They have been preparing the ground for a more profound shift in planetary consciousness that is destined to take place in the human species.”
I hand select the stones that call to me and put them together with intention. Sometimes to tease out a feeling, sometimes for healing. All are one of a kind creations designed for the person to whom they eventually call. My joy is in creating them with love. I hope you find them the intriguing little miracles that I do.
