ician Apprenticeship & Training Program

The WBFAA Unilateral Apprenticeship and Training Committee (UATC) is a statewide apprenticeship training program approved by the State of California Division of Apprenticeship Standards. The program incorporates 6,000 hours of supervised On-the-Job Training (OJT) with 525 Hours of Related Supplemental Instruction (RSI) through Chabot-Las Positas Community College District. Contractors
The law requires that all technicians working with 100 volt amperes or above must be certified by the State of California or must be enrolled in a state-approved apprenticeship and training program.
- All technical field employees of an electrical contractor (C10) must be certified or enrolled in a state-approved apprenticeship program.
- WBFAA UATC provides relevant apprentice training as well as exam preparation support and CEUs for Certified Fire/Life Safety Technicians. Apprentices
- Each new employee must hold a high school diploma or GED and to be enrolled.
- Apprentices report supervised On-the-Job Training (OJT) hours monthly and receive online instruction. Journeymen
- Receive instruction and support to take and pass the certification exam.
- Provide supervision to Apprentices On-the-Job.
- Receive relevant training and education to achieve the 32 hours of Continuing Education Units for renewal.
