We have been so busy getting ready for Autumn and Winter that we let National Thrift Shop Day slide by last week. Below is our post from last year. It is still true, still relevant and still heartfelt. Please take a moment and read it again.
August 17 is National Thrift Store Day! It is the perfect time to share the importance of thrifting at Fabulous Finds. When you donate gently used clothing and household goods, you are recycling and reducing waste. When you purchase pre-loved items, you are not only saving money, you are making a positive impact on the environment! Also, and very importantly, by thrifting at Fabulous Finds, you are providing support to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault as well as other challenged community members. Each and every purchase at Fabulous Finds provides funding that makes it possible for New Hope of McDowell to serve victims in a larger and more personal way.
There are many ways that you can contribute and many have contributed to a more hopeful future for those that we serve. On National Thrift Store Day, we would like to personally thank you for your efforts. If you donate sellable items, thank you; if you volunteer from time to time, thank you; if you purchase from our store, thank you; and if you promote our store to others, thank you. Thank you!
