Crazy Yarn Lady is collecting creative odds & ends!

Cleaning out a jewelry box or craft stash? I’m looking for small treasures that can be given a second life in our community art programs.

Old or broken costume jewelry, large beads, bells, charms, pendants, ribbon and trim remnants, tassels, interesting yarn, small wooden pieces, unused craft supplies, and other fun little project bits are welcome.

Missing an earring? Broken necklace? Three random bells you have no idea why you own? I want them. 😂

These materials will become part of our adaptable creative programming, giving participants the freedom to make their projects truly their own.

Tuesday night was outstanding! CYL partnered with ImpactCR, Downtown Cedar Rapids, and Big Grove Brewery for an evening of creativity and crafting for Colorburst 3rd Street! We had a blast! I won't lie, tonight is going to be bittersweet. The founding cohort, my very first scheduled session class, is graduating! I've learned so much from my students about what to offer before class even starts, what tools work best, and how long a cohort should last for the most positive outcomes. I've learned about my students and their dreams, and connected 20 people with their tribe. I've loved hearing them ask about the next cohort and what we'll be making, and how they are all ready to sign up just as soon as it hits the calendar! This has been such an incredible way to pilot the program, feedback from my class has been amazing and so supportive. I can't thank them all enough for trusting me with their time each week. Congratulations to the Crazy Yarn Club Founding Cohort of Summer 2026!!
