God of mercy,
you inspired Saint Clare with the love of poverty.
By the help of her prayers
may we follow Christ in poverty of spirit
and come to the joyful vision of your glory
in the kingdom of heaven.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
— Amen.

🌹 Saint of the Day | St. Lawrence

True wealth is not measured by what we own, but by how freely we love.

As a deacon of the Church, St. Lawrence served both the altar and the poor with unwavering faith. When ordered to hand over the Church's treasures, he presented the poor and declared them to be its greatest riches.

His life reminds us that holiness is found not in earthly possessions, but in hearts poured out for Christ and for others.

🙏 St. Lawrence, teach us to love generously, serve humbly, and treasure what Heaven treasures. Pray for us.

Follow us for more Catholic news, prayers, and reflections.

Take responsibility for your words
Say less. Mean more.

A Franciscan life isn’t only about what we do. It’s also about what we release into the world.

Words leave a mark.

A few careless words can stay with someone for years. A thoughtful word can give someone strength they didn’t know they needed. So take responsibility for what you say.

St Francis chose simplicity and perhaps our words need some of that simplicity too.

Say what is true.
Say what is necessary.
Say it with love.

Before you speak, pause.

Will these words bring peace?
Will they build up?
Would I still say them if I were standing before God?

We cannot control the words of others. But we can take responsibility for the words that pass through us.

Let your words leave people with more dignity, more courage, and more peace than they had before they met you.

That’s a Franciscan way of speaking.
Pax et Bonum.
