Flow Gallery will be open from 11am until 7pm in celebration of Marshall Magic Days organized by the Downtown Marshall Association on May 1 and 2. In addition to having the annual Earth Day Show “Inspired by Nature” hung in our gallery (featuring the work of 19 artists) we are pleased to have two longtime Flow artists providing demonstrations of their work.

Friday May 1st - 4pm to 6pm will feature broom maker Barbara Portwood from Weaverville. Barbara will walk you through the process of hand-wrapping natural broomcorn with nylon cord wrapped around a wooden foot-operated winder to create lovely brooms that are both decorative and functional.

Saturday May 2nd - 4pm to 6pm we will have fiber artist Dagmar Haubold from Mars Hill. Dagmar will be showing how to needle felt a spring flower. This is a textile art form that uses sharp needles and repetitive motions to interlock wool fiber into a solid structure such as a sculpture, painting, or a simple flower.
