I love the very unique items from years gone by and wanted to open a shop that would allow me to express this passion. With incorporating my grandmother's unique name of Ovie in my shop, it allows me to reflect on a very special woman in my life who taught me so much. The shop itself is a combination of sweat and tears from not only me, but my amazing husband who practically built the shop location himself. Many of the primitives and antiques throughout were "picked"/ bought by my sister and me. With my sister working with me to find amazing items, it allows me to bring in new inventory quite often. Please let me know if you find that special piece in the shop or if you are looking for something specific; between my sister and myself, we can attempt to find it.

I had posted a few month's ago, my Mother (86) had fell and broken her neck in 2 places. She was air lifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. Doctor's didn't give us very good odds of her healing. Surgery was not an option, since Mom has Osteoporosis. Only option was to wear a neck collar to keep her neck stable. With my siblings we took turns taking care of her. My family is strong in faith and prayed if it was Gods will she would show signs of healing. Over the past few months she graduated to a soft collar. THIS PAST WEEK AT HER DOCTOR'S APPT. SHE NO LONGER NEEDS TO WEAR THE COLLAR. AMEN! SOMETIMES WHEN WE PRAY WE DON'T ALWAYS GET THE ANSWERS WE WANT. GOD ANSWERS THEM IN WAYS THAT CAN HELP US THE MOST. WE JUST NEED TO TRUST IN HIM WITH ALL OF OUR HEARTS! YOU MAY NOT THINK HE LISTENS, BUT HE SURE DOES! THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS! MEANS ALOT TO ALL OF US!

I had a customer call me and wanted to know if I could match her solid oak dining table to her new Hickory cabinets. She had looked at new dining tables and they were not real wood. Prices were also a little over the top for what they were made of. If you know me, I'm always up for a challenge. Never had done an oak table to look like Hickory. After sanding and pepping their old table, I began my challenge. It ended up being a 5 step process. 4 different colors of stain and finally sealing 3 coats at the end. I also stripped the black paint on the base/legs and applied black stain and sealed. Thank you Debbie for giving me a challenge! Welcome back to our area!
