We need to talk about something that happened in our shoppe this weekend.
We were helping a customer find a top. Our inventory said we had a size, but we couldn’t find it anywhere. We searched. We looked again. Nothing.
Then we were looking for a wallet. Then some squishies. And that’s when we started finding tags stashed in a basket. An empty hanger here. Another tag there.
Do you know what that is called?
Theft.
And honestly, it’s heartbreaking.
As a small business, we work HARD for what is inside these four walls. We spend hours sourcing products we believe you’ll love. We invest our own money into quality, affordable merchandise. We pay our bills, our employees, our taxes and everything else that comes with keeping a small business going. And there are days, it’s HARD! Construction isn’t easy and small business is harder!
When someone steals from us, it isn’t just “a big store losing a few things.”
It comes directly out of a small business owner’s pocket. It’s inventory we can’t sell, money we can’t reinvest, and another little piece of the business we’ve worked so hard to build.
And for those who think you got away with it, be prepared, because next time, it won’t be pretty.
Our cameras see you. 👀 You might be tricky, but we are paying attention, and we are onto you.
We’re simply asking you to do better. Be better.
Please don’t be the reason we have to become less trusting, more guarded, or less welcoming to the people who genuinely support us.
