The jacket you dropped in the donation bin has a price tag on it now. Somebody’s buying it this afternoon. That money goes to Savers.

I’m not telling you to stop donating. Donate. Give things to your sister, your neighbor, the coat drive. Drop a bag at Goodwill if you want, I’m not here to talk you out of it.

What I’m saying is you’ve never actually had a third option. Retail sets the price going in. Poshmark or Depop takes its cut coming out. Buffalo Exchange offers you Pennie’s. Donation bins hand you a receipt for your taxes + a thank you, which is lovely, + is also the end of it for you.

So: a third option. Small fee to upload, you earn points, you claim something else out of the SHARED Closet. No Savers. No Depop fee. Just a woman who wanted your jacket + a closet full of things you haven’t worn yet, waiting on you.

Back at it!
