Michelle Stoker Scott posted these pretty Christmas cards using mostly retired products. It was a great reminder that retired products are still fully usable to make awesome projects! Use what you love!!

There are always new awesome products released, and I share mostly those because I want you to know they're available, but please USE the products you purchase. You loved them enough to purchase them, so craft away and enjoy them!

Fun technique: Get more use out of your dies by using them with the Impressions Plate! Lynn used this technique on her swap card to make the spiderweb texture on the white central piece. She used the die from the Web of Fun die set with the Impressions Plate -- it looks like an embossing folder was used.

The Impressions Plate isn't really a plate at all, but more like a squishy piece of rubber. Its original intent was to use with the Impressions Dies to give a deeper impression in certain Impressions Dies that cut and emboss. But as you see here, it can also be used in other ways!

This is an easy, but nontraditional fold -- fold back the front at the halfway mark. (It's easiest if you score your 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" card base at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4"). Then add 1 7/8" x 5 1/4" strips of matching DSP to the right and left panels. Attach your central design (oval in this card) to the left side only.
