We at Bank Books honor our military and veterans this day and every day 🙏🏻🇺🇸
June 6, 1944 — D‑Day
Time marches on, but today we pause to recognize one of the most important dates in our nation’s nearly 250-year history.
On this day, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy in the largest combined land, air and sea invasion in history—marking a turning point in World War II and beginning the liberation of Western Europe from N**i occupation.
The courage, sacrifice and unity shown on D‑Day remind us that freedom is never free. It is secured by ordinary citizens—many very young — answered the call in extraordinary ways.
We remember the men and women from our community who left their homes, families and futures behind to serve. Many never returned, but their legacy lives on in the nation they helped protect.
As we approach America’s 250th anniversary, we honor the D‑Day generation not only for what they achieved on June 6, 1944, but for the lasting example they set for all who follow.
We remember their sacrifice. We honor their legacy. And we remain committed to the ideals they fought to defend.
