Here is a screenshot of allotted processing time for the Virginia State Police to complete a NICS request.
Items keyed today (6/18/2026) can be held up with a “Delayed” status until 6/27/2026.
After that date, a FFL dealer may at his/her election transfer the firearm without approval.
Virginians only have 3 days left to ensure a 100% guaranteed transfer before the “non-answer transfer date” is beyond July 1st!
After 6/21/2026, there is no recourse for dealers if a delay takes longer than 7/1/2026.
The ban will prevent a transfer if no answer is available from the VSP FTC.
Get your items now; do not wait!
Next week will far worse than this week with respect to delayed status wait times.
Also, we still have a few days that we can absolutely Make orders via our website- after early next week, most of the purchase options will be solely what is already on hand in FFL retail locations.
