Online safety matters, especially for creators and small business owners.
This is Part 3 and the final installment of this series designed to help our creative community better understand some of the most common online threats.
Throughout this series, we've covered:
✅ What is a Scam?
✅ What is Phishing?
✅ Scam vs. Phishing: What's the Difference?
Although these terms are often used interchangeably, they are not the same.
A scam is any attempt to deceive someone in order to obtain money, products, services, or information. Phishing, on the other hand, is a specific type of scam designed to steal sensitive information or gain access to your accounts by pretending to be a trusted person or organization.
Understanding this difference can help you recognize warning signs more easily and make safer decisions online.
If you missed Parts 1 and 2, you can find them in my shop, Maelenna's Creations, under the Activity section.
Technology is constantly evolving, and unfortunately, so are the methods scammers use. That's why one of the best forms of protection is still something very simple: pause, verify, and think before you act.
Thank you for joining me on this little series. My hope is that this information helps you navigate the digital world with a little more confidence, knowledge, and peace of mind.
Together, we can build a creative community that is more informed, more aware, and better protected.
