Keep the garden growing when the temperatures start dropping. 🌱

This handmade raised planter combines one of my favorite two-tone torched finishes with a removable plastic cold-frame attachment designed to give plants some extra protection from cooler PNW weather.

Open it up on warmer days and close it when your plants need a little more protection. It’s a great setup for growing cool-season favorites like lettuce, spinach, kale, arugula and radishes as we head into fall.

I really like builds like this because they’re not just about making something that looks good—the goal is to make something functional, useful and built for the way people actually garden here in Washington.

I especially like how this build combines function with the natural cedar + torched two-tone look that has become one of my favorite styles to build.

Cooler Washington weather is a great excuse to get another round of fresh greens going. Lettuce, spinach, arugula, radishes and other cool-season veggies can keep the garden productive well beyond summer.
This cedar planter with its built-in trellis gives you a raised growing space for greens and vegetables, plus vertical room for climbing plants when the warmer growing season comes back around.
I built this one with my two-tone torched finish, giving it a look that stands out even when the garden isn't in full bloom.
