I don’t post often and I don’t post about my children, but I wanted to give everyone an update on life right now… we brought baby Brynn to the emergency room on Nov 2 for fluids and vomiting… we were concerned about her kidneys and the unimaginable happened… we were triaged fast and transported to Seattle Children’s bc of a high white blood cell count. Her diagnosis was fast… she has infant leukemia. (Symptoms started showing 2 weeks earlier and it was fast acting). Our lives changed in that moment when the word cancer was uttered. We are currently in icu and making her stable…We will be here at this hospital until Christmas with her first round of chemo. There will be periods when we will be going home but the next two years will be primarily at the hospital.
Our son and dog are being cared for by grandparents. Our village has shown up in so many ways.
Truly thank you everyone for your outpouring of support these initial days. Troy and I are so blessed and can’t thank you enough. We have heard from so many of you and it is hard to respond to all but once we are more settled and out of icu I plan on asking questions and getting advice from those who have offered it.
Brynn is doing well today in picu…. She is improving… Hopefully we move out of picu at the end of the week and start chemo the following.
Prayers and well wishes are so helpful and supportive. We love you guys so much! Thank you for everything!
Seattle Children’s hospital is truly a God send and we are feeling grateful to be close to such a resource.
