Fifty years of Mother’s Day Market means fifty years of families making it part of their weekend.

Generations have come to Marysville City Park together, walked the booths together, eaten together and taken home stories together.

This year, the Warford family had five generations at the Market. They received a gift certificate for a family photo shoot with Caitlyn Graham Photography, and it was a pretty special way to mark the 50th year.

“It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet. They’ve got one of everything.”

That came from Carter Heuer as he was studying his options at the Mother’s Day Market and deciding what needed to go home with him.

The 50th Mother’s Day Market brought food, flowers, crafts, clothes, kids’ activities, music, chicken barbecue, sweet treats, familiar faces and plenty of reasons to wander a little longer through Marysville City Park.

Thank you to the vendors, shoppers, volunteers, sponsors and everyone who filled the park and helped carry this 50-year tradition forward.

They really did have one of everything.

Fifty years of Mother’s Day Market memories, and one more day to enjoy it.

The 50th annual Mother’s Day Market is open today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Marysville City Park. Come walk the park, shop the booths, visit with vendors and be part of a tradition that has brought people to Marysville for half a century.

Live Circuit plays at 11 a.m., and the Mother’s Day Chicken Barbecue starts at 11 a.m. at the Helvering Center.

Shop & Win runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Every purchase during that time earns a ticket for a chance to win $75 in Chamber Bucks.

Every purchase from 4 to 5:30 p.m. earns a ticket. More stops mean more chances.

Turn your tickets in at the Information Tent, booth 105. Three winners will each receive $75 in Chamber Bucks.

The 50th Mother’s Day Market opens today in Marysville City Park.

Come walk the park, visit the vendors, grab lunch, listen to music and enjoy one of Marysville’s longest-running traditions. There will be plenty to see, plenty to eat and plenty of reasons to stay awhile.

Bring your mom. Bring your friends. Bring the kids.

Shopping bags for the adults. Dinosaur digs and kite flying for the kids.

Mother’s Day Market is not just about shopping. Kids can hunt for dinosaurs along the Story Walk, launch kites over the park, challenge somebody to giant Jenga or jump into a co****le game while parents wander through the market.

There is room to shop, play and wear everybody out before heading home.

Sunday sounds good in Marysville.

Live Circuit is back at Mother’s Day Market, featuring Mike Wiegers coming home to play from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Grab lunch from the Koester House Museum Foundation’s chicken barbecue, relax under the shaded tents at the picnic tables and enjoy live music while the market wraps up its 50th year.

Fifty years of Mother’s Day Market does not happen without people willing to help.

We need volunteers for this year’s market, and there are plenty of ways to help — greeting visitors, answering questions, helping with setup, cleaning up and filling in where needed.

The Koester House Museum Foundation will serve its chicken barbecue during Mother’s Day Market at the Helvering Center, with barbecue chicken, baked potato, baked beans, coleslaw and a roll.

Bring Mom for lunch, or have a meal delivered in Marysville.
