What did you do when you work on an upscale firearm where all the screws screwdriver slots are parallel to the bottom of the gun?

You take a piece of cardboard, outline the receiver, and then put the screws in order of where they were.

The Re*****on 870 ejector. When you clean one always be careful around the ejector. This is easy to bend or break and very hard to find for replacement.

Many times I get bolt action rifles in with light strikes or failure to fire where the firing pin barely dents the primer. Several things can cause light strikes, but sometimes it is the way it is stored.
Many simply remove the magazines, check the chamber, close the bolt and put it in the safe. However the gun is in the cocked position and over time this causes the firing pin spring to weaken.
In the video you can see how the gun stays cocked. And then an example on how to decock it as you close it.
To store the gun simply make sure everything is unloaded and just hold the trigger as you close the bolt and it will decock and you will not need a snap cap.
This will work on most bolt action rifles, but not all.

In celebration of 250 years of the USA because Armed Citizens had fi****ms. They stopped tyranny and we became a free nation.

Armed citizens played a critical role in the Revolutionary War. Early American men owned fi****ms, as colonial laws required able-bodied citizens to possess weapons. This is why the Second Amendment is the ONLY Constitutional Right that is specifically says "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

Today there are some that attack that Right. Remember that when you vote.

We had a SKS come in with the handguard gas tub popping loose while shooting.

Usually when this happens, you can unload the gun and put the handguard latch back in place, then pull the bolt back, let it go and after a few times you can watch the latch start moving up until the latch lets the gas tube go.

Normally this is caused by the Handguard Ferrule being worn making it negative so the latch is always wanting to move up.

The fix is buy another Handguard Ferrule and fit it to the gun OR, in this case, just build the worn part up with weld and machine or file it down with the correct angle to make it positive and that will keep the latch in place. Here is a pic of the one on this SKS before it was fixed.

Had a Sig 2022 and the paperwork said "light strikes". After checking the basic safety and function items done on every gun, I found the problem on this gun was unusual. Inspecting the gun I could see that the firing pin hole had brass in it. It was jammed in so hard the firing pin couldn't knock it out or move it. The problem was caused because the rear of the cartridge was getting scraped as it was sliding up the slide under the extractor. I disassembled the slide and made a punch out of .062 Dia. Spring steel and tapped the brass out the back of the firing pin hole. I fixed the part that shaved the brass and cleaned out the inside of the firing pin hole and reassembled. (The firing pin was not damaged). Test fired and function checked the gun. All is good.

The pics show the brass stuck in the firing pin hole.
