It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our company founder James E. “Bubba” Pope.
Bubba leaves behind a legacy that will continue to grow and flourish for generations to come. As the founder of Pope’s Plant Farm and Pope’s Garden Centers, he dedicated his life building not only a successful business, but also a place where friendships were formed, knowledge was shared, and beauty was cultivated.
Bubba’s hard work, determination, and love for his community were evident in everything he did. He took pride in helping others leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him and creating memories that will be treasured for generations to come. His wisdom, generosity, and warm spirit touched countless customers, friends, employees, and family members.
Though he is gone, his presence remains in every tree planted, every flower that blooms, and every life he influenced. The values he lived by honesty, dedication, kindness, and perseverance continue to guide those who knew and loved him.
Bubba will be deeply missed, fondly remembered and forever cherished. His legacy is not measured only by what he built, but by the people he inspired and the lives he enriched.
