Coconuts & Cornbread is moving to Florida!

The boxes are piling up, our house is officially on the market, and Rick and I are getting ready for our next adventure. It’s exciting, a little scary, and currently VERY chaotic. 😂

There’s more to this story that we’re not quite ready to share YET…👀 but this is the beginning of a pretty big new chapter for us.

From Front Porch Roots to Island Soul… I guess we’re taking that Island Soul part pretty seriously. 🌴

🧔‍♂️ Happy World Beard Day to the Beard behind the Brand! ❤️

We joke about all the things Rick’s beard has survived 😂, but the truth is, Coconuts & Cornbread wouldn’t be what it is without the man behind it.

He builds the booths, wrestles with those dang bamboo walls, hauls the boxes, hangs the lights, handles inventory, works the markets, and brings the people-person energy to balance out his introverted wife 🤓 — and somehow still has plenty of ideas of his own to add to mine.

But what I love most is that we dream together. He believes in me, I believe in him, and somewhere between all of our “What if we…” conversations, we keep turning crazy ideas into something real.

He works incredibly hard, loves this little business as much as I do, and is always ready to chase the next dream right alongside me.

And lately? Let’s just say we’ve been dreaming pretty big. 👀❤️

I couldn’t ask for a better husband, partner, best friend, or beard behind the brand. ❤️

And Rick, if you’re reading this: PLEASE DON’T EVER SHAVE IT OFF. 😂 Seriously. This is not a request.

Here’s to whatever we’re doing NEXT. 😉

Of all the beautiful creatures in the wild, sea turtles will always have a big piece of my heart. 🐢❤️

Maybe it’s the island girl in me, but there’s just something about seeing one glide through the water that brings me such a sense of freedom and peace.

Today, on National Wildlife Day, here’s to protecting the wild places—and the incredible creatures that call them home. 🌊🐢

There’s just something about the water that makes you feel a little more like you.

Island Girl was made for that feeling—the one you get when the windows are open, the breeze smells like somewhere tropical, and for a little while, the rest of the world feels very far away.

Juicy pineapple and bergamot drift into warm sandalwood, oakmoss, and cedarwood—a little bright, a little sultry, and completely island-minded.
