💗”Your grandma used to hang out in here”💗… said Diana to her daughter Carrie, duing Carrie's first visit to my shop. When I overheard those sweet words, they melted my heart for two reasons:

1 • It instantly brought back memories of Diana's mom, Fran- one of those precious ladies who has a permanent place in my heart. I vividly remember her joyful, upbeat attitude at 87 years young. Not only did she love the Merle Norman products, but she also loved the Lord, which was something special we shared in common.

2 • I thought to myself- you can't walk into any other modern-day cosmetics store and reminisce about your grandma hanging out there. Diana's statement was truly a unique one that could only be made at .

Merle Norman is sometimes viewed as "your grandma's makeup", by those who have never tried it. I used to be a little offended by that, but now I consider it a compliment and embrace that label. Merle Norman is much more than cosmetics - it's a TRADITION that gets passed down for generations, and there's a lot to be said about that.
I will always be grateful for the blessing of being able to personally get to know Fran, Diana, Carrie, and the many other generations of ladies who have become like family to me over the last 15 years.

Speaking of family- it's amazing to think that Merle Norman is still family-owned and they're celebrating their 95th anniversary this year. In my mind, that's 95 years of sweet memories that ladies have in their hearts. Memories of their first makeover, and memories of their precious moms and grandmas who faithfully used the Merle Norman products before them. PRICELESS.
