Competitive season is here, and every keeper feels it.

Outfield players can rotate in and out. You can't. On game day there's one spot between the posts, and right now your coach is deciding who gets it.

Here's what most keepers miss: the decision isn't made on Saturday. It's made on a Tuesday practice in week two. It's made when you dive for every ball in warmups while someone else jogs through them. It's made when you organize your backline, when you reset after a bad rep instead of sulking, and when you ask your coach "What's one thing I need to fix to start?" and then actually fix it.
