Fun fact - there’s 5 people in this picture 👀 This is what touring a corn plot looks like this time of year!

Our team likes to examine the agronomic attributes of the corn in a local setting. We assess the potential of numerous varieties across seed companies, so that we can provide our growers with real-world advice for selecting hybrids that best suit their fields.

On Friday, our team took a well-deserved break before the busy harvest season to celebrate our successes together. We kicked off the day with office trivia and "Minute to Win It" games, then headed to Minot for supper, awards, and some friendly (but competitive!) games of paintball. Let's talk about desiccation! 🌾 Why should you choose to do a preharvest desiccation?

Killing off crops before harvest helps to achieve a uniform maturity across the field. This evens out different staging, allowing seeds and kernels to mature at the same rate. With the bottom of the plants dead, your combine can get through the crop easier. It also helps with late-season w**d control by killing off those pesky w**ds sitting in the canopy.
