Armstrong Mercantile Armstrong Mercantile is a carefully curated gift shop located inside the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center in Historic Downtown Maysville.

Shop locally crafted items for a variety of occasions! John Armstrong, an Irish immigrant, built his legacy from the ground-up during the first half of the 19thcentury. Starting as a merchant, and later moving into almost every early industry needed for a growing city, Armstrong would go on to build an empire right here in Maysville. John Armstrong played a foundational role in the economic develo

pment of our region. John Armstrong's story inspired the Kentucky Gateway Museum Center to curate our giftshop in his name. Our inventory, like our museum's collections, are carefully selected to tell a story. Many of our gifts are locally produced. All proceeds from purchases from Armstrong Mercantile go back into Kentucky Gateway Museum Center's programming.
