The Little Free Library at Foster Park is officially back and ready to welcome readers of all ages!

Some of you may remember that last summer, the library was unfortunately destroyed after it was accidentally struck during a medical emergency. While we were sad to lose it, we were relieved to hear the driver was okay. We are also thrilled to share that it’s been rebuilt and is once again filled with books for the community to enjoy.

This project wouldn’t have been possible without the help of several wonderful community members. A huge thank you to Dave Loehrke for using his handyman talents to rebuild the library, Jake Schellpfeffer and the City of Mayville for getting it installed, and Emma Nickel for painting the beautiful artwork that makes it so special. We’d also like to thank Friend of the Library and Thrivent for generously providing funding for the building materials.

We’re still waiting on its new Little Free Library registration plaque, but you can already find its location here:

I forgot to take a picture of the back of this one - it’s BEAUTIFUL! Go check it out and send me pictures of your visit! I’d love to hear what books are taken so I know which ones I should be finding for them!

Right now, the library is well stocked with children’s books, but we’d love to add more options for adults. If you have a few gently used books you’d like to share, we’d greatly appreciate the donations.

Whether you’re borrowing a book, leaving one behind, or simply stopping to admire the artwork, we hope you’ll take a moment to visit the Little Free Library at Foster Park. Happy reading!

August is here, and it's bringing another week packed with community events, family fun, and plenty of reasons to get out and explore the Marsh Area!

⭐ Don't miss National Night Out on Tuesday! This is one of our favorite community events of the year, bringing together local first responders, organizations, businesses, and families for an evening of fun. Stop by and say hello to the Marsh Area Chamber and many other local organizations, enjoy activities for the kids, and celebrate everything that makes our communities so special!

Also on Tuesday, explore The World Around Us Science Labs at Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center or enjoy Story Time at the Horicon Public Library .

Wednesday features Story Time at the Iron Ridge Public Library and the always-popular Horicon FFA Corn Boil during the Horicon Farmers Market—a perfect way to spend a summer evening.

Thursday is another busy day with the Mayville FFA Steak Fry, The World Around Us Science Labs at Horicon Marsh, and the start of the Mayville Ace Sidewalk Sale.

The shopping fun continues Friday and Saturday with Sidewalk Sales at Mayville Ace Hardware and Posie in downtown Mayville. Saturday also includes Yoga on the Green at the TAG Center.
