And so it begins!!
Folks are already pitching tents and saving spots for the 35th annual Tannehill Halloween Fairyland on October 31.

Until September 1, campers still need to move spots every 14 days, so bring your spot-swap buddy and claim your favorite sites. It’s a great way to save your spot and share the fun!
Starting September 1, the requirement to move spots every 14 days is waived for Halloween season.

Campsite rates:
• Improved (water and power): $30 per night
• Sewer (water, power and sewer hookup): $35 per night
• Primitive: $20 per night

We offer a 15% discount for seniors 62+, military and veterans, and those with a disability.
Discounts do not apply on holiday weekends. Camping is nonrefundable; rainchecks only. A 3.5% fee applies to card payments.

Campsites are filling up fast, so come grab your spots or risk losing your favorite site with the best set up for your Halloween Fairyland decor!
Please follow campground rules and be courteous to your neighbors when staking out and setting up.

Heads up, y’all - Glow in the Park is moving INDOORS!

Same date and time!! TODAY, July 24, 6:00–10:00 PM

Due to the weather forecast and all the recent rain, we’re takin’ the party inside to keep everyone safe and dry.
The Glow Playground will not be available, but everything else is still on: blacklight dance floor, bubble station, face painting, photo booth, glow sticks, food trucks, and those limited free light-up glasses and bracelets while supplies last.

The Tannehill Creamery will still be open with the $2 discount for each paid gate ticket (valid once per day).
Campers: remember you get in free to park events!

Glow in the Park! Kid Night!
Tannehill Ironworks State Park | THIS FRIDAY JULY 24 | 6:00-10:00 PM

Bring the kiddos for a glowing evening made just for them!
Blacklight dance floor, glow playground, bubble station, face painting, photo booth, glow sticks, food trucks, and more. Dress the little ones in neon or white and watch ’em light up the night!
Limited free light-up glasses, bracelets, and more while supplies last!

Best for little ones: 6:00–sunset (~8:00 PM). After sunset is great for older kids and full blacklight fun.

The Tannehill Creamery will be open! This weekend's promotion is a $2 discount with each paid gate ticket (valid once per day).

This weekend July 24th-26th your gate ticket doubles as a $2 coupon at the Tannehill Creamery. Bring your paid ticket and treat yourself to something tasty — one coupon per ticket, per day.

Creamery Hours this weekend:
Fri, 24th 4pm-10pm (Glow in the Park 6pm-10pm!!)
Sat, 25th 11am-5pm
Sun, 26th Noon-6pm

Regular gate prices:
- Adults (12+): $6
- Seniors (62+) & Military: $5

Spend the day exploring Tannehill!

Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission — Now Hiring: Part‑Time Groundskeeper

Help preserve Alabama’s historic park! The Alabama Historic Ironworks Commission is hiring a Part‑Time Groundskeeper to assist with landscape maintenance, trail and campground care, event setup, and general park upkeep at Tannehill Ironworks Historical State Park (McCalla).

What you’ll do:
-Mow, trim, prune, and maintain lawns, flowerbeds, and trails
-Remove litter, clear storm debris, and perform routine grounds repairs
-Clean and prepare event and visitor areas; maintain restrooms and picnic sites
-Operate basic power equipment (mowers, trimmers) and perform light equipment upkeep
-Support historic site care and event readiness as needed

What we’re looking for:
-Dependable, safety‑minded, able to work outdoors in all weather
-Ability to perform physical tasks and lift up to 50 lbs.
-Valid Alabama driver’s license; background check and drug screen may be required
-Groundskeeping/landscaping or maintenance experience preferred

Hours & Pay:
-Part‑time (hours vary based on park needs and events)
-$12/hr

It's Almost Time to Book Your 2027 Stay at Tannehill!
We're excited to announce that reservations for 2027 cabin rentals, pavilion rentals, and building rentals will open tomorrow Monday, July 13, 2026!
A few important details to help the day go smoothly:
Our office will be closed to walk-in visitors on July 13 so our staff can focus on handling reservation requests.
Reservations are first come first serve and will be accepted by voicemails only at 205-477-5711 Ext. 3.
We will begin accepting voicemails at 8:00 a.m. on Monday morning. Any voicemails left before 8:00 a.m. will be disregarded.
To make a reservation, please leave a voicemail at, 205-477-5711, Extension 3.
If you need information about camping or if you are currently camping within the park and need assistance, please contact the Tannehill Park Ranger at 205-504-7610. Our Country Store will be open 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
