Many bikes from big-box type stores aren't assembled well. This can be dangerous in addition to giving a poor riding experience.

If you buy a cheap bike online or at a discount store, PLEASE bring it to me for a safety inspection!
This bike had the fork backwards and zero front brake power. Very dangerous.
$20 inspection is a tiny price for peace of mind and safety.
Thankfully this customer realized something was not right but didn't have the experience to pinpoint it on his son's bike.
I won't judge you for your purchase, I just want you to be safe and have a more enjoyable experience with whatever bike you have.
