Mr. Chad Allen Veazey, a resident of McCrory, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, July 4, 2026, in Bradford, Arkansas, at the age of 21. Chad was born in West Memphis on September 25, 2004, the son of Ken and Paula (Wright) Veazey.
Chad was a 2023 graduate of McCrory High School, where he played baseball and was an active member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). Through his involvement in FFA, he earned numerous awards and honors at the state level. Following graduation, Chad worked for JTM Farms and served as lead guide for Splitridge Outfitters.
A member of McCrory United Methodist Church, Chad was actively involved in youth mission work. He was truly the life of the party, and a good time was almost guaranteed whenever he was around. Farming was more than a career to Chad, it was his passion. He also loved duck and goose hunting. Chad was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, spending time on the river, and taking beach trips with family and friends.
Chad was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, John Rolland “Bud” Veazey, and his maternal grandparents, Troy and Eloise Wright.
He is survived by his parents, Ken and Paula Veazey of McCrory; his loving girlfriend of five years, Zoei James of Bald K**b; his paternal grandmother, Joann Veazey of Cotton Plant; his brother, Jonathan Veazey of McCrory; his sister, Kelsey Ragsdale and husband, Luke, of Fair Oaks; his beloved niece and nephew, Kinsley Veazey and Doc Rolland Ragsdale; his Mot and Helen crew; his black lab, Flipper “Flip” and his Australian Sheppard, “Ace”; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a lifetime of cherished friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, in the McCrory High School Auditorium with Bro. Glenn Hicks and Mr. Mike Ragsdale officiating. Interment will follow in Woodman Cemetery near McCrory. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Neal Alumbaugh, Hayden Fields, Alston Faughn, Clay Hollowell, Gavin James, Luke Ragsdale, Brayden Scarbrough, and Jacob Stuckey.
Honorary pallbearers are Gavin Burkett, Buddy Morrison, Lyle King, Brian Scarbrough, Brenten Scarbrough, Clint Veazey, Matt Veazey, and Will Veazey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McCrory High School FFA Chapter.
