calf number four of the season and mom is eating her placenta! this is totally NORMAL and most mammals do this. why? itā€™s full of nutrients, gives her energy, AND eliminates birth scents that may attract predators. mom is nourished, baby is safe, and only our species would bat an eye at this. i always love this part. do you think itā€™s weird or beautiful or maybe both?
